Good article. Not the first post season victory for the tigers, if I remember correctly.

Most of you probably have no idea how huge this is. For a Massillon soccer player to be named player of the year above players from Jackson, Hoover, Lake, etc. is absolutely huge.

Since watching Andrew as a freshman you could tell he was a great player. I'm guessing since Massillon doesn't play any soccer powers outside the county is why Andrew didn't make all state. Teams like Hudson, Solon, Stow, etc. would probably never have seen him play. He is on the same talent level as those players though.

Congratulations to Kyle as well.

Andrew is a good friend of my daughter's and is in some type of traveling premier league and his team has won nationals 2 years in a row. And he was over in Italy for a while as well. You are right, he is a special young man:thumbsup:

Last I knew he was playing for Cleveland United which is a top notch club out of Cleveland that travels to tournaments across the state. They used to tour Sweden as well, not sure if they still do. I don't know if he plays for them still. He may be with Cleveland Soccer Academy or someone else now.

His sister just told me that's who he still plays with and they travel all over the country as well.

I played soccer for Massillon from 00-02 and now work for the University of Michigan soccer team and can tell you that people outside of Stark County know about Fatigati. I have also had the pleausre of playing with him during summers and can say that he is an excellent player.

Andrew Fatigati you are obviously a great soccer player. Congratulations on being named Player of the Year. I hear you're a great guy also. I know the whole town is proud of you and your accomplishments. Best of luck to you in college.

Andrew finished the year with 11 goals and 10 assists. Also making all county were Kyle Yager, Sr., Alex Hall, So., Steve Weise, Jr., Ryan Cole, Jr.

Alex would come over and practice with the team when his brother was a senior and he was still in middle school. He is going to be a good one.

For the girls it was Jan McFadden, Soph., Andrea Porter, Stephanie Brown.

Congratulations to all of these players.

ORIGINAL QUOTED POST WAS DELETED. THE MODS AGREE WITH FYREWOOD.

That's just one of the most asinine questions I've seen here. Dude this site is about all Massillon sports. We don't need that crap here.

Congrats to Andrew Fatigati. His father and I went to school together and I really want to congratulate Andrew, Enzo, and Cathy. This is indeed a great honor, and one I wouldn't have thought would come to Massillon for another, oh 50 plus years!!! Good luck in the future young man. Well deserved accolades.

Wow, Carle. Did you just make a positive comment about soccer? Must be something in the water down there. J/K.

I didn't realize Andrew's dad went to Massillon. Andrew was the best player as a freshman, so I can't imagine how good he has gotten over the years. And I would have not expected this kind of honor in Massillon ever. Usually the Jackson, North Canton, Central teams don't take Massillon soccer too seriously. Watch out for Alex Hall next. He can play. He would come over to practice and open fields with the Varsity team when he was in middle school.

Walsh may be a good fit for Andrew. Not sure who all of his offers are from. He would probably get the opportunity to play early. They have a good team and are in the same conference as Team England, I mean Rio Grande, who is usually tops in the country.
