Ok Folks, 2006 is going to include unprecedented online coverage of the Massillon Tigers with the addition of RadioMassillon in addition to our text based chat room! But you need to be prepared in advance if you want to be included…
ChatRoom-
The chat room is back online. It’s in the same format as last year, but of course, you’d need to register again. I’d suggest you register NOW to make sure it works for you, since we can’t provide much support while we are at the game!
Users logged in to the forum will see a new link on the toolbar called “Chat!” Click there, and follow any directions there to get your name registered for the chat room. Try to keep a similar name to your forum name, please!
On to the WebCast-
RadioMassillon.com is providing play-by-play webcast. MassillonProud.com, MassillonTigers.com, and the IndeOnline.com, are all providing links to RadioMassillon.com’s broadcast. There is one caveat. You must use a version of WinAmp player to listen. It is STRONGLY suggested that you get your setup installed WELL IN ADVANCE, as it does take a few minutes of time to get it set up. You don’t want to miss out on the broadcast, right? Detailed instructions for installing the WinAmp FREE player can be found at: [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]_internet_broadcast ([Only Registered Users Can See Links.]_internet_broadcast)
Once again, MassillonProud.com can provide absolutely no support for listening to RadioMassillon.com. The directions provided are only a general guideline for installation and may change at any time. Further, MassillonProud.com cannot provide any WinAmp support.

In following up Jim's notes about the upcoming Tiger season .. It seems like
MP.com is THE place to be.. Just a quick note to add on.. Be sure to link up
with radiomassillon.com early.. when the server is full.. a little window will pop up and say 'sorry..server full' .. lets hope that doesn't happen to anyone. Also
remember that TIGERTALK POST GAME CALL IN SHOW with Big E and myself
will go LIVE from Kozmo's after the games.. The show can be heard also on
radiomassillon.com AND on the audio portion of Massillon cable channel 9.. were hoping that we'll see several massillon proud POST game tailgaiters there.

If the radiomassillon.com server becomes full come game time, I'm sure someone in the chatroom will be able to figure out a way for the rest of the folks to listen to the game. LOL

fyrewood, you might tell the folks what they need for this. I never needed it. A Yahoo ID is one thing you need. What else?

A Yahoo Instant Messenger ID, a set of computer speakers and letting me know before the game starts if I'm in the chatroom....That's about it!

Doesn't WinAmp cost money? It's been years, but I think you do. Or maybe it's zip files that gave me fits. I don't know. Just thought I'd air concern so it's fixed by the time it really matters.

Winamp has a free version that works fine... Hence the name WinAmp Free Player. LOL :poke: Just kidding...
They have a free player that does the absolute basics, or a pay version with all the bells and whistles.

Oh man I LOVE being in the chat room while the games are going on. Fyrewood and Butler are second to none, guys. They are phenomenal. I'm really looking forward to it this year. Of course I'm going to miss TigerswillbeTigers and whoever that moron was from Washington, D.C. that was originally from Massillon that logged in. What a goofball.
By the way, I have registered and am ready to start chatting.

I'm feelin the love already and I haven't even told you about my 6 week sabatical to the great northwest.
I realized that my desire to follow the Tigers via MP.com this year was a strong as ever. I can't wait to interact with Yourself, Butler, Fyrewood, JimD, MMauthor, TigerCarl, and the rest of the cast of characters on our road the Championship.
My posting on MP.com will be limited to the TTT forum and sports exclusively.
Nice to hear from you, see ya in the chat room!

I tried to call him a couple of times and left messages but he never returned my call. I'm going to try him again tomorrow and see what if I can hunt that scoundrel down.

I can meet y'all in the chat mode ... let me know what time, and don't forget I'm on the left coast (pacific time zone) here in Idaho. Lucky me, I got an easy job and have internet access and a relatively "private" desk at work.

I've been trying to get into the chat room. I registered, used both user name and password. Every time I hit chat, it goes back to where I'm suppose to enter my user name and password. Am I doing something worng? :scratchchin:

Hi, a little about the webcast -
The show is broadcast in mp3 format, 24k streams, I know 24k streams are lower quality audio, but this is talk not music, and it will sound just fine. There will be 500 slots available to tune in, log on early so you don't miss it.
Winamp is the preferred player for the show, it can be downloaded here
[Only Registered Users Can See Links.]
The show is broadcast in MP3 format, Windows Media or real player will work too, but winamp is what we recomended because it will automatically play the stream, real player and windows media have to be tuned in manually.
For those pc guru's out there, a program called -hi-download- can be used to capture the show from the broadcast -if you would like to record the game- it will be saved in mp3 format using hi-download. here is a link to hidownload, it does cost $39 to buy it, but if you want to record the games, this is the easiest way to do it.
[Only Registered Users Can See Links.]
I will be putting a help page on Radio Massillon.com explaining how to tune in with the 3 players listed above and a little info on how to save the games with hidownload.
If anyone has any questions please post them here, I will be checking this forum for the next week or so, and will do my best to help you out.
Sorry to say I'm not a football fan, I don't much know the difference between a touch down and a home run! I'm the guy who owns the computers and maintains them to make the webcasts possible. After the season starts I probabally won't visit the forums here much, at that time if you have technicial problems please ask The voice (JD) for help We talk all the time. For the next week or so I'll check the forums here for any questions you might have. I would like to remain anonymous, as this is about the tigers not me, I just want to make myself available for the next week or so here in the forums to help out the Voice and make the tigers games go global!
Go Tigers!

It just goes to show that you cannot keep a Tiger down!!! We lose our server and we come back bigger and better than ever heading into another great season of Massillon Tiger football..... Just a shout our to all the moderators, Everyone I know down here in Tenn is just amazed, between the web site, the chat room, the forums, and now the radio broadcasts of the games.... They just dont understand the dedication of the Tiger Nation!!! Look forward to seeing everyone in the chat rooms and hopefully this year putting some names with faces as me and the wife come up for week two Sept 2nd..... Did not really now anyone the last couple of trips but feel like I have gotten to know quite a few over the years in the forums.... Especially look forward to re-acquaintung wtih Fyrewood and meeting my brother in arms, Massillon Marine.... So we plan on being at the game early and looking y'all (as they say in Tenn) up!!!!

Already got the beer and pizza dudes on speed dial. Woman was told to leave me the hell along come game time, and I've been eyeballing the neighbors dog to kick for those "bad calls" we seem to get from time to time. I think I'm all set.

The 1st webcast was a disaster, it turns out that somehow the address of our relay server got posted here on MP and most of you were trying to log into it. This caused the relay server to crash during the 3rd quarter because of bandwith issues.
The ONLY way to tune into the webcast is visit radiomassillon.com and click the link, it's that easy.

Honest mistake... Actually it was the address given to me...
But to those who got shut out.... SORRY!
I have made the changes I needed to make on this end so the rest is out of my hands...
