Thanks for the link. I know we have a few posters from Arizona here. Some info on the team would be great.

I was just doing some research on these guys. They sound tough. Good news is their quarterback, top receiver and top two tacklers graduated. Their top running back (1200+ yards) is back. This has the potential to be a great game. I also noticed they scored well over 500 points in 14 games last season.

I'm going to try to go to their game against Paradise Valley the week before they play the Tigers....unfortunately there won't be much to compare with the lack of quality in their opponent vs what I saw at the end of the season for the Tigers. Looking at who Hamilton played last year, don't be impressed by most of those scores. Most of those teams do not compare to the meatgrinder schedule Massillon faces. I'm not surprised that they have won so many games and lost so few.
That doesn't take away from the fact that they have been consistently one of AZ's best schools for being such a new program. AZ football DOES NOT compare to Ohio football. On the other hand, they are the cream of the crop out here.
(hopefully Mr. Whoopee will have a scouting report for you guys)

hamilton has won 2 state titles and state runner ups 2 other years since 2000! I have been telling everyone that this is not going to be a cake walk for us! We are extremely talanted and should win at home 4 sure! Our defense should be able to contain their backs if our linebackers are improving! You are right this should be a great game! The tigers dont have many cupcakes this year at all!

Are you saying were not the cream of the crop.

In my post, I don’t believe there is any inference to whether or not Massillon is the “cream of the crop.” I was making an observation about Hamilton in of and by itself.
*****
If I would have been writing about whether or not I thought Massillon was the “cream of the crop,” I would have stated that they are in the “cream of the crop,” both overall in high school football history and with the team they have now.:gotigers:

Thank you for posting the opponents' scores for the year. Although it is difficult to tell any comparison between Arizona and Ohio teams, it does look like Hamilton handed teams their worst (or close-to-worse) loss.
This is especially true when one looks at the scores against teams with significantly better than .500 records- it looks like they blew out those teams, except, of course, against Brophy (who looks like no chopped liver- at least by Arizona standards).
If this is a pattern (at least in '05 it was), that they turn it up a notch against good to great teams, I suggest that we do not take this as lightly as some seem to be.
I know Coach Stacy and the team will not take ANYONE lightly (even Moeller, who from other posts on TTT seems to already be in the bag). I suggest we fans take the same attitude.
None of our '05 wins will help us this year. However, replicating our team and fan attitudes at those wins will!
GO TIGERS!

I know this thread is about Chandler but what Tigervic said about Moeler is a very important game as we are going to find out about our offensive line. The first two games will get them some experence but they will not be really tested. Moeler will test them as I think they have 9 starters back on defense. It will be a great measuring stick going into the rest of the season. GO TIGERS

I agree with CarlE, to a degree...
From what I know about Hamilton's opponents in AZ, we are at a different level of play in Ohio. I know that even Brophy (a big Catholic football school)cannot be compared to St X or St Eds of last year, again its not the same level of football.
No doubt, they have the atheletes - that 4X400 relay team was too good - 3 of them football players. They just haven't played OHIO "cream of the crop" teams like Massillon has this year - they are AZ "cream of the crop" to be sure and certainly worthy of being in the Herbstreit Classic. BUT, Massillon should win! (they better!)

Cox is doing the broadcast - great! I was going to check into it.
Thanks LTFT.
I'll have to have the webcast going on here as sound-over COX...if I remember, the local announcers are okay - but I don't feel like listening to homer announcers. Their production is decent for HS football, but I wonder if they will farming out the production to a production company in Ohio?

Unless Bill Caples and Joe Kertes (and a small minority of others) are providing the announcing, you don't have to worry about any pro-Tiger announcers. They are a rare breed.
Perhaps Scott Davis and Todd Porter might satisfy the non-Ohio-Homer bill for our game?

Dailey was an ANIMAL. Bobby is a great, gutsy leader. BG was unreal. And the atmosphere was absolutely electric the whole game.
Play of the game...the TD right before half set up by a great INT and return.

Just out of curiosity, how many computer points do we get out of that win?
They would be the equivalent of a (large) D-1 Ohio school. They will definitely get some more wins and greatly help the Tigers.

They went for the jugular and got burnt in a big way. With the exception of one Husky pointing to the scoreboard as he ran off at halftime, I thought this was a pretty classy team. I thought there was CLEARLY a lot of money in their program, based on the number of players and band members they brought (not to mention all of the equipment their band brought).
With the exception of the pre-halftime goof, and the "go for two before ya really need to" goof, I thought they were pretty well coached.
I wish them the best of luck in the rest of their season!

OB why was it a goof to go for two. They needed the two at some point why not do it now. Just asking?

I think its a big downer for the team missing that two point conversion and not a smart coaching move. Following the two point conversion failure it made the game a two possesion game. If they would of took the PAT they could have kicked to us knowing they were only one possesion away. Instead they were looking at having to get the ball back twice. The game was pretty much over after theat failed two point conversion, dumb move......
