Tiger2009.....What a terrible time to get a sore throat. I always try to stick to a somewhat liquid diet.....you know, hot chicken noodle soup, drink warm tea. Take a couple aspirin every 4 to 6 hours to help with the pain. Even gargle with salt water...(if you can) it is kind of hard to do.
Make sure you dress warm enough for the game. Take an umbrella and maybe wrap something around your neck like a scarf , or wear a turtleneck. That will help.
I hope you feel better, and good-luck tomorrow!!

Seriously, use the salt water. I have been using this method all of my life and it has never failed. My kids used to whine about doing it also, but now since they realize it actually works they use it everytime they start to get a sore throat without complaining anymore.
It is important that you do it correctly though, and often, about every couple of hours.
Use 8 oz. of hot water (1 measuring cupful) and add 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the hottest water you can stand without burning your throat. Make sure you stir it well first. Try counting slowly to 10 or 15 with each gargle.
You should be in good yelling condition by game time!

Under no circumstances should you consume alcohol when you have an infection, viral or bacterial.
As long as the alcohol is in your system, your immune system will not function.
You may temporarily feel better, but in the long run you will not improve, and will likely be even more ill.
Ask a doctor, not people on a football forum.

OK, to satisfy those who watch "ER", "House" and "Grey's Anatomy", take a pill and wash it down with alcohol!
