In 1974 the last time the tigers were 5-4 and the red and black were 9-0. The game was a sell out much like this year as were the records. The only difference was the line with mck anywhere from a 16 to 20 point prohibited favorite to win, but the tigers didn't care they went up 14-0 before the bulldogs could even say touchdown. Then like the tigers in the first half mck scored a couple of times to make it 15-14 then the tigers drove down field and with 0012 showing on the scoreboard Greg Wood tossed it to Ed Bell and won the game! My question is will history repeat itself? I think it will. MASSILLON 24 mckinley3

"Wood rolling to his right, all kinds of pressure, throwing one - this is for Bell.....and he scores (screams), scores!"
Classic!
Beat MCK!
The stands were actually swaying........

That was my very favorite Massillon mck game ever. That day was so much fun, just like tomorrow will be when we kill mck.

Anyone you talk to about that game remembers the stands shaking. It was my first McKinley game and that is the one thing I really remember. Seeing it on video reminds you of how much differrent it is today as there was no fence and people were crowded all around the edge of the field, just barely out of bounds. The video I have has the recordings from both TIG and WHBC. Hearing Joe Kertes and Caples screaming incoherently, ahhh...the memories.

all i know is that i had to go to the bathroom really badly, and there was no way that i was going to walk away from the tv (had to stay home that year with a little baby...son's first intro to tiger football...yelled in the poor kid's ear...probably scared the beejeebers out of him...explains a whole lot of why he is the way he is today:laughing: )...so, i nearly wet myself when we made that touchdown...

I remember seeing the replay on TV. I almost got sick because the roof camera bounced so much.
