Looking for help, I am the head coach of a mens semi pro football team in Canada, as well as the defensive line coach at a major Canadian University. I am coming to your town this weekend to take in all of the sights and sounds surrounding this game. I have wanted to do this since seeing the documentary film "Go Tigers" fortunately we usually have post season play with the University I coach at, well this year we were eliminated from post season play last weekend and I am heading into town. I have booked a room at the Hampton and need tickets still if someone knows where I can get 2-3 tickets it would be greatly appreciated. Also can I get an intinerary of events that will take place this weekend, I plan on arriving in town at noon on Friday.

Thanks for all of your help!!!

When will you arrive? If you get to town by Wednesday or Thursday yous could get some! There are some tickets remaining but are selling fast! We should have some people outside the gates with a few tickets! If you are staying at the hampton you are minutes away from the stadium, school, and parade(friday night)!

Arriving in town on Friday around noon, can you post times and locations for what is going on. As well where is my best bet to find tickets at that time.

This is probably a premature reply since I don't have the times but here goes.

Friday afternoon you can hit the Pep Rally at the High School (it probably starts around 1:30). I'm not sure if you still enter through the athletic doors on the far east side of the school or if you have to go past the main office.

Be sure to head downtown to Howards to pick up your Massillon gear.

Friday night is the parade (anyone know what time its set to start? 7:30? 8?) followed by the bondfire.

Game time is at two, but arrive at the staduim early and check out our Paul Brown memorial (in front of the West stands--walk around if you park on the East side, its worth it!), the Calliope, the real live OBIE and be sure to pick up your 50/50 tickets.

As for tickets.. keep an eye on this board since there seem to be some great seats going for face value...

Hopefully someone will have the exact times for you soon!

I've always found a ticket for sale in front of the west (home) gates ... even within 30-minutes of kick-off. Finding 2 or 3 seats together might prove a bit more difficult.

Good luck and enjoy the game!!

I hope your ready NFC Coach, cause you're gonna have a blast! Massillon is one of the greatest places on earth (IMO)! And you couldn't have picked a better week to visit! Bw3's is always a good place for Football, Beer & wings! But Irish Exchange is still my favorite!

Have a great time!

Coach,

If your staying at The Hampton, your within walking distance of 3 good watering holes. Kozmo's Grille is right behind The Hampton. Nice bar, and I love the stone pizza oven where you can sit and watch them make pizzas. About 2 blocks to the west, you have Rockne's Pub, owned and operated by one of the biggest Tiger supporters in town. In the same plaza, you have BW-3's, which has the most rowdy Tiger fans and LOTS of drinks flowing, along with large screen TV's to watch games. Great place to go for chicken wings, beers and to watch football.

Have a good time, I bet it's a bigger experience than your University's games!

TC, how could you forget The Alibi or Benders?! Both good downtown bars if you're looking for football talk! Just ask at the hotel desk where these places are NFC coach, it's a small town and everything that has been mentioned is within walking distance.

More importantly, I have been told that we do have "will call" services for tickets. Just call our ticket office 330-830-1830 for info on that.

Also, for anyone interested;
Freshman at Mckinley game after school Thurs. AWAY
Open House at WHS is 6:00 - 7:30 pm Thursday and is worth a look!
Rotary luncheon at Amvets Fri. 11:45 with team, etc.
Beat McKinley Rally at WHS 1:25 - 2:10 (come a little early) Friday afternoon
And of course the parade Friday (I have 7:30pm.?)

How can I forget The Alibi? Well, I guess I was thinking he was looking for food and drink, not just a place to drink and talk football. If that's the case, there are 10 different bars in town that can accomodate, but The Alibi is best.

By the way, NFC Coach, why don't you come to our tailgate party? It's in the North End Zone Parking Lot, behind the flagpole. You'll see us with the canopy and the Massillon Proud banner waiving. Heck, you can probably close your eyes and follow the smells of the great food cooking!

If I had to pick 2 bars to go to, I would say BW3's, then the Alibi. The alibi is usually dead, but I go there all the time b/c there are 2 ladies behind the bar(forget their names) that know our names and are great. OSU/Texas game I was with a few friends at BW3's and before it got to kickoff it got nuts, couldn't even move, so we went to the alibi. Hardly anyone there, got the table right in front of the big screen HD 5 minutes b/f kickoff. You can't beat that. I know for a fact I'm going to be at BW3's, benders, and the alibi partying it up all night Saturday after Massillon wins!

Oh yeah, by the way NFC- the alibi has free popcorn! haha

I want to thank you all for all of your help in getting tickets to the game, It looks like I am hooked up, can not tell you how excited I am to come to your town and meet a lot of you and watch some quality high schoool football. If the rest of the town is like the people I have communicated with on this forum then you should all be proud of your community.

Looking forward to hanging out, watching football, meeting new friends and watching the Tigers kick some McKinley butt!!!!!

See you all Friday.

Ummm...better get out a map there Monte.

It's Burlingtion, Ontario, not Burlington, VT.

Burlington, Ontario is only a short drive north of Buffalo.

But I agree. He should leave earlier in case of construction or accidents.

According to the Google map it's 252 miles from Buffalo to Massillon, and they say it takes 4 hours 39 minutes.

Of course than depends on traffic, construction & how often you make pit stops.

I stop frequently because the Good Lord gave me a bladder the size of a chipmunk's.

Have a safe trip.

With all due respect, I would not follow that route.

I would stay on I-90 to I-271 and come down to I-77, taking SR21 at the split north of Akron.

IMO it's quite a bit faster.

That drive down I-79 in PA will kill you.

Witnessed the fans' hysteria of the Cards winning the World Series.
The Tigers beating the pups puts those fans to shame.

Barry and Rod are two classic guys. Barry is a giant. Hopefully the two guys can make it over to the Hall of Fame and see Warren Moon's exhibit.
