Most of you probably know that the Ohio State game is being shown on ESPNU this Saturday. ESPNU is on Massillon cable but I would guess that probably 95% of the state does not get it. I don't know if any of you typically watch "The U"...but it sucks. Only 8 million people in the entire country even get the stupid channel. ESPN put this game on this channel because they know that there are Buckeye fans from coast to coast and with it not being readily available on cable, the outcry will be huge. ESPN is trying to strong arm these cable companies into picking up their failing station. At the same time as Ohio State/Indiana is being shown on ESPNU, ESPN2 is showing Illinois/Penn State. Come on. ESPN is using Buckeye loyalty for their benefit.

It definitely sounds like it. How hard would it be to put it on ESPN 2?

MTown,

I read something about this in the Repository I think last week. John Jewell, this OSU fan from Kentucky I think said something in the paper that really hit home to me.

OSU is the #1 team in the country after all...and the game should be shown...if not on ESPN then at least one of the Ohio stations let alone ESPN 2.

I hear Keno was very upset in the 2002-03 season. While Ohio State was winning a National Championship on primetime free TV, he was upset that Michigan's big Outback Bowl win was only broadcast on ESPN Ocho.

Hey, at least they showed Michigan's Alamo Bowl loss on National TV.

Does warner cable have the game and if so what channel?

Nope. TWC does not carry ESPNU. The best you're gonna do is watch a tape delay at 11pm on ONN, or TWC's local channel.

Guys, guys, guys. The damn score is going to be about 106-0. Watch someone else that might be a better game. It's OK. I guess I'm used to missing them on Saturdays. I get about half of them, with the rest being SEC games. Anyway, I hope it works out for you guys.

Longtimefirsttime,

I was upset that Will Allen swooped in front of Braylon Edwards and took away a potential game-winning touchdown pass in that 2002 game. No one from Michigan saw him coming (I know Edwards had Tyler Everett and one other defender beaten from behind). Edwards never saw Allen coming from the right.

I broke down in tears (seriously) after that game. I just couldn't take it. That darn Mark Dantonio knew Edwards was going to slant to the end zone and...............

Let's see what happens November 18th.

I'm going to the game anyway...but that's not the point.

Um Keno...I saw him coming. It was clear as day that my boy (John Navarre) was throwing into double coverage. With 1 second left in the game it would make sense to play your safeties deep to prevent a pass into the endzone.

I'm sorry you broke down in tears after that loss. I had a similar experience when Navarre's eligibility ran out.

MTown,

Edwards had the two defenders beat. No one from the Michigan side saw Allen coming.

Or at least put on on ESPN Plus, like it is when we see it on WUAB or whatever that station is called these days. People that pay for the Plus package can't get it. Chris Speilman was on WHBC yesterday morning and likened it to when they put the Duke/North Carolina basketball game on 2 back in the days few had it.

A little help for you, Keno.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wy9NpLNc6Ik&mode=related&search=

Edwards was covered by Chris Gamble at the line of scrimmage. Matt Wilhelm had the underneath converage, Will Allen had the deep coverage. Due to Navarre not looking anywhere else except to Edwards, both went to cut off the route. Wilhelm didn't make it, Allen did. It was obvious that Navarre was going to Edwards and no one else. Edwards did not beat two defenders on the play.

Haha! I've seen that list before and it is impressive. We've had this discussion before. I have a lot of respect for Michigan as a program. Without Michigan, there would be no Ohio State.

My disdain has to do with the HUGE amount of bandwagon fans that live in Ohio. They are easy to identify...

"How long have you been a Michigan fan?" ..."since '97"

"How many games have you seen at Michigan?" ..."never been there"

"Why do you like Michigan?" ..."they have cool helmets"

Most important, my dislike for Michigan has to do with the disrespect shown to Ohio State AND the rivalry during the Cooper years. How many times did we have to hear that Michigan State was their biggest rival? How times did we hear that it meant more to them to beat Notre Dame than OSU?

Now it is time to make those people pay. Ask those same people now how they feel about Ohio State. How do they like going 1-4 against Tressel? How did they enjoy our National Championship?

I respect the accomplishments of the Michigan program....that's why it is so important to beat them.

the reason i get from a lot of people for being a UM fan is "i like their colors". then i usually say, "ok, does that mean you also like the SD chargers, milwaukee brewers, indiana pacers, toledo rockets, kent state..." i think you get the point. they usually don't say much after that.

I agree with you on most points. However, I really didn't see or hear that much about MSU being a bigger rival than the Bucks. I think most TRUE Michigan fans know that Ohio State is THE main rival. I also think OSU fans "hate" (for lack of a better word) UM than vice-versa although if you keep beating us...........:sour:

I will say you don't really appreciate that backyard rivalry unless you live there. They just don't like each other - kinda like the old WGH-WWR rivalry.

UM has a certain amount of prestige and, yes, arrogance. MSU is looked down upon by many UM alumni which is wrong, imo.

True, but it drives me nuts when people say a Crable or Burgess or Manningham, etc. should not have gone to UM because they are from Ohio. This is America isn't it? Kids may feel a better fit with another school than Ohio St. Maybe they liked the coach who recruited him better. Actually, there could be and are many reasons.

I don't see the big deal really. Come on...its Indiana. I have been excited to catch so many Buckeye games down here. I wish I could watch the Browns more often. Missing one game against a nobody team won't kill me

This is dead on. And again, my problem isn't with the diehard Michigan fans, it's with the jumpers...and those were the ones making the MSU and ND statements.

And yes, Ohio State fans do have more "hate" for Michigan and UM does for us. Part of it is the arrogance you mentioned. Ohio State folks have a fanaticism that Michigan backers don't seem to have.

Yes there are a lot of bandwagon fans. Where did all those Michigan basketball fans go after the "Fab 5" left? I suspect it will be that way for football in a few years. I support my teams win or lose (and I suspect most of the Michigan fans here do as well).

Massillon Tigers
Ohio State Buckeyes
Cleveland Indians
Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Cavaliers
