My spirit goes out to these guys and the girls team as well. I saw both teams play Perry in the first round and it was awesome to see them trying their best and leaving everything on the field. The boys played Mon. and scored twice within the first 5 minutes. Perry never recovered from it and our boys played great. My son is a goalie on the team and he made me proud. The other goalie played at the end and was just as spectacular. I wish them good luck today as my daughter and I will be there for for my son as he left for Fort Knox this morning and will miss the game. He knew he was not gonna be there and put it all on the field for his team on Monday. He is in the Army Reserves and has military training for a week down there. He will be leaving right after school to defend our freedom. So we will be there for him and wish him well too.
The girls lost but have grown during the entire season. They have made accomplishments this season that past teams have not. Good job girls and Coach Young.

Good luck tonight. Looks like it is going to be a mud bowl.
When is ever going to stop raining?

Good Luck against Jackson. Jackson is a young, but talented team. They barely lost against Stow, Walsh, and Gahanna Lincoln, the top teams in the state.

They need to pack in the box and limit the shots. The goalie will need to be at the top of his game for this one.

The boys played great but fell short. They were only down 1-0 at the end of the first period. They were swarming all over the field. I felt that Jackson was holding back some to see what strategy the Tigers employeed. At the start of the second and final period the Polarbears turned it up a notch and the scoring started. Putney played hard and at one block he dove and hit the poll with his head and shoulder. He continued but he was shaken up. Although Spicer the other goalie was not there I don't think that it would have made much differance in the final score. Jackson was the better team lastnight. Congrates goes out to the Girls team that showed up in painted bodies and crazy outfits and cheered through the rain and cold. I even saw one football player at the game cheering on the comrads. Good job TIGERS and thanks for a great season. My son was proud to be apart of the team and wishes that he could have been there for ya. He was in my kids and myselfs spirit as we cheered!!

Congrats to the boys team. If they were only down 1-0 at half and the final was 4-0, that is an accomplishment. Jackson is usually in the top 2 in the region and their program is looking to take the next step from regional powerhouse to a state powerhouse.

UnionTiger,
Did Fatigati play this year? I had heard that he wasn't going to but hadn't heard anything since.

Yes he played and did very well. He had a hat trick against Perry in the first round game. He was helped all season by the coaching of his father and coach Volpe.

Fatigati was a good player and controlled the center mid as a freshman. He got hurt quite a bit though player against older/bigger kids and I really wish I had the chance to watch him get stronger and play as a junior and senior.

It's too bad that your son didn't get the chance to play at Jackson. Playing at their stadium under the lights is such an exciting, fun opportunity for the Tigers.

The Bears controlled action the whole way but struggled to find the net in the first half against a stingy Tiger defense.
It sounds like the defense did a really good job.
