I know I'm about a week early and we really shouldn't be worrying about this, but does anyone know when Mass-McK tickets will be going on sale to the public and if there is a certain number that one person can buy??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go Tigers!! Beat Western Hills!!!

Xtiger,

I promise you there will be 18,000 fans at the game October 28th. By the way, has there ever been a game between the two warring schools played on Halloween?

Keno, all I know is that you've "flown to greatness" by coming here and if I see you without Orange on Oct. 28 I'm not gonna be happy!!! If you notice the quote you will know who will be looking for you in Orange on that day. Go Purple Raiders, but more importantly GO TIGERS!!!!!

I think it might have happened once. It didn't used to happen because the school year started later.

Yes, back in the old days (before the expanded playoffs) The GAME was usually on the first or second Saturday in November.

During my high school days we usually played the Warren Black Panthers around Halloween.

It seems to me that there was a time that it was played on the same day as
Ohio State-Michigan….. am I remembering right???

Tiger1906,

While I am posting this to you...I will be hopefully dressed in ALL BLACK October 28th for the 115th meeting between the two schools. I am on the Value City website looking at some suits and for one black shirt...then I'll top it with a hat and well.........I don't want to give too much away but I think I'd look nice dressed in all black (if I am...I'll be happy to give autographs and pose for some pictures).

I never wear the colors of any team on game day as it is my belief to do that to do show would show an edge of favoritism towards any school.

Having said that...it's nine days to the battle.

Yes you are. When the college teams played a few less games, I think they were on the same day a few times.

That wouldn't happen to be your Maize & Blue coat that you sported for last year's OSU/Michigan game?

Here are some tickets from Ebay. I bought some off this Seller and they have already arrived. They look very authentic. More than likely you will be sitting next to me and my 2 non-massillonproud.com friends. Get a jump on it, they will be ending soon.

I know that my senior year (1974) the McK - Mass game was on the same day as Ohio State - Michigan State... and the Spartans upset the Buckeyes at E. Lansing as the Tigers upset the Bulldogs.

The Michigan game has always been the Saturday before Thanksgiving...been that way for decades. I know the Massillon/McKinley game has moved around because of the playoffs and such, but that would be the only way.

Playoffs are another story. Last year Ohio State beat Michigan, Massillon beat McKinley. Greatest day of my life.

Tigress and Xtiger,

I guarantee you there will be 18,000 at next week's game. The stadium seats 18,000 max. There was 18,000 for the 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000 games (16,000 for the 2002 and 14,000 for the 2004 games).

I am pretty familiar with Paul Brown Tiger Stadium. Since 1998, I have covered 15 games inside this stadium (two Canton McKinley-Massillon games, soon to be three and one state championship game).

Also, keep in mind that there was 23,000 in the 1999 game, 22,000 in the 2001 game, 17,000 in the 2003 game, and 23,000 in the 2005 game...all played at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Field at Fawcett Stadium, which houses 23,000 max.

Marie,

I never wear the colors of any other team in a stadium when I am on the job. To do so in my eyes shows favoritism towards the other team and I stay away from that. I wear anything but the colors of an opposing team or teams.

Al.,

You guys never stop with that photo, don't you. Just keep on and see if OSU fans are not weeping in sadness after November 18th......I already have a score predicted for that game but I'm not about to divulge it (and no MTown...for the fourth straight year, it won't be 35-7 Michigan). Take that and use it as bulletin board material if you wish.

Regarding the the game on Halloween...that's interesting... You could be done trick or treating, and get to the game, or go in the afternoon, then trick or treat...TtigerFan (class of '76)

Longtimefirsttime,

The announcement was made shortly before Canton McKinley defeated Jackson Friday night at Fawcett Stadium.

I'm already guaranteeing the 18,000 now and I am twice as confident as ever!!

That's a pretty interesting guarantee, seeing as how stadium capacity is about 16,700. Are they going to be selling SRO tickets or bringing in extra bleachers?

Obie Wan,

There was 18,000 there my senior year when Massillon won 13-9 in 2000. That's the last time that many were at a game.

On that note......IT WAS HARD TO STOP THAT PERRY JAMES! EVERYTIME HE TOUCHED THE BALL FOR MASSILLON, HE ALWAYS SCORED!! (he razzed me a LOT about that on the Mount Union campus  )!!!

My sister just let me know today that she has 2 tickets she wants to sell (for face value of course $7.50 each) They are in Section 6, Row OO, and I think they are between seats 9-12 somewhere......If anyone is interested let me know and we'll figure out how to meet up...
