View Full Version : Massillon Nurse
This morning my son had his cleft lip and nose repaired at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. When my wife and I go into the recovery room to see him, I was wearing my Massillon Football T-Shirt as I always do when traveling away from Beaumont and his nurse comes up to me and says " are you from Massillon?" I tell her yes and it turns out she went to nursing school in Massillon, was from Brewster, and has lived in Houston for 25 years. We share stories about Kraus' pizza, Mid's sauce, and trail bologna. It actually made my time waiting on him to recover very enjoyable. What a small world!

It's really fun how a Massillon shirt can be an icebreaker almost anywhere. I wear mine on vacation and always find someone that knows Massillon.

Without going into too much detail, I can say that the students at the nursing school were a source of great amusement back in the day.

I wear a Massillon hat or shirt almost everywhere I go. It wouldn't suprise anyone on here but I get asked about it all the time, really a conversation starter. Of course I made the mistake of doing this at the Mentor mall a couple weeks ago and was reminded we lost to them more than once. One remark was "there's a new hotbed of football, but you had a nice run"

Mentor a hotbed of football? They should get out of region one before they start talking that trash.

I always wear my Massillon shirt when I go out of town. Bumped into a tiger fan when I was in Mexico wearing my Massillon shirt once.:gogogo:

We were in Murray, KY, a couple of years back for my sister's college graduation, when my husband (born and bred Massillon) pointed to a truck in front of us and said "Look at the window of that truck." I looked up and noticed an OBIE sticker that said "Massillon Tigers". I said "yea, so?" He looked at me and laughed...then replied..."Hello, we are in Murray, Kentucky!"
I just laughed. I get so used to seeing Tiger stickers on cars around here, that it didn't even dawn on me, until he reminded me that we were 550 miles from Massillon! You never know where you will run into a Tiger...so you better be sure to wear those shirts, hats, and stickers with STYLE and CLASS!

I was in New York city last year and when I walked into my hotel the doorman asked me where I was from . I said Ohio and he asked what part ? I said Massillon and he replied ," Oh , Paul Brown Tiger Stadium . It turned out he had been to a band show here a few years back . He asked ," Do you guys really fill out the huge stadium ?" As luck would have it we flew in from Akron , Canton airport . While I was there I bought some post cards with a picture of the Massillon McKinley game on it . I gave it to him and he couldn't believe that 20,000 people would attend a regular season highschool football game . He was greatful and said he would put it in a scrapbook .
