I drive to Warren, unfortunately, 4-5 times a month for work and RT 5 is closed a few miles from Ravenna. Don't take 44 to 5 and follow the detour, you will be wasting roughly 10-15 minutes, it takes you back to I-76 via the back roads.
For those driving to Warren that are WEST(the Massillon side of I-77) that live on the east side of Massillon.. Belden Village I-77n TO I-76 to exit 48, (this is the back end of the 5 detour), go north until you hit the open portion of 5, then go east to Warren (see warren directions thread for how to get ot the stadium from 5)
West siders, just get ot 77 or 76 via your normal fastest route then continue as stated above.
Canton side of 77 folk, take 62 to 44 north, get on 76east to exit 48, see above.
( without all the back-roads and construction, ya they detour you through another road under construction)
that is the best way I know of. BTW, for those of you who don't get out much, 241 is CLOSED as well at Greensburg road(just south of that intersection and North last time I went through) so that route should be avoided also.
Basically take your normal route, but don't take 44 to 5, take 76 to exit 48, north to 5. It is actually about the same amount of time.
(On the way home take the 5 detour and it will dump you onto 76)
and no, 62 to 44 is not faster than 77 to 76, unless you live in canton or further east, trust me.

Yes, you are correct. Unfortunatly, I drive to Ravenna everyday to work. You can get around it if you take the RT 5 exit. Get off on Rt. 5 and turn left on Greenleaf. The stop sign turn right (Newton Falls Rd.) it takes you right back to Rt. 5 past the mess. It doesn't slow me down any.
Either way, have a safe trip!!!

77N to
76 etc, etc....?just that way I won't have to read if you are westside etc...just a basic easy to read set of directions would be sweet...thanks

Those directions are OK but you better follow them "to the T."
Sorry I didn't know RT 5 was closed. I would think 225 would be another option.

Thanks w1. I was hoping RT 225 was far enough East to avoid the construction around the RT's 5 & 44 area.

they don't seem to be real hard, why is it a confusing way to go???I just want the easiest way to get to Warren...I know the detour is on 5 and don't want to get messed up figuring that out

I'm not good on directions so if you have no problem with it, it is a good way to go. When you exit 76, I believe you must turn South which just doesn't seem right but if you follow what they tell you, you should be fine.
Al - I THINK RT 5 is open from 225 on east to Warren.
