If we win the last two games. It is almost impossible if we win only one game as it would take a lot of crazy things fot this to happen. Don,t count on one win to make it. GO TIGERS

If we win out we are in for sure. If we loose to Mentor but beat McKinley we will need some help. If we beat Mentor and loose to McKinley we will need less help (but who in the Hell would want that). If we loose both, well… why would you WANT to go to the playoffs?

I think Wadstucky will win out. I really don’t see Cloverleaf beating them two consecutive years.

I hope Mayfield beats Nordonia and the mutts take Boardman. A key game if we only take 1 of our last 2 will be Buchtel over Garfield in week 10.

Speaking of which. Can somebody tell me the attendance at Warren and how many folks you think we took over to that hell-hole?

Thanks.

Well I wasn't too happy with the crowd. Myself and the people we sat by all game kept trying to get the crowd cheering and they just weren't responding. In fact you can hear us on the replay (we sat right in front of the press box). We really have to go to Mentor in full force and ready to cheer and support these kids. They need us. They need to know we are behind them no matter what! I can remember when I was a kid (late 80's early 90's) that it use to get so loud at games you could barely hear yourself think. That is what I want to get back to. CHEER PEOPLE CHEER!!!

Website says there were 6,000 there, as for how many we took over, not sure but I don't remember seeing such a small turn out by tiger fans.

Not so much a hell-hole anymore it is actually beautiful with the brand new school and they have the stadium looking very good.

Hey they even have new bleachers on the visitors side.
No more worries of falling though the bleachers.

The top five teams in the playoffs are all pretty well in and Steele who is 8-0 and who has not beat a team with a winning record has their two toughest games comming up with Brecksville 5-3 and Avon Lake 6-2. They might still make it with two losses. The big games that involve Nordonia against Mayfield and a Mayfield victory would help us as Nordonia should win their last game. Wadsworth and Cloverleaf is big as a cloveleaf victory would help us as Wadsworth should win their last game . We are trying to get past those two teams plus McKinley. We must pass one of them to get to the eight spot. If we win both games then we are in but if we only win one then it will be very hard. We need Boardman to beat McKinley as if we lose to Mentor and they loose to Boardman then if we beat McKinley ,we can pass them for a playoff spot. If McKinley beats Boardman and we lose to Mentor then Mckinley who is already ahead of us will stay ahead of us if we beat them. We are trying to pass one of those teams and in this case it is better that McKinley loses to Boardman. We also have Garfield right behind us and if they win out it would be very close between us and them and how well our opponents do will decide who comes out ahead. GO TIGERS

DAMN, I have such headache now reading what TigerFlame just wrote. I was looking too and we need Cloverleaf to beat Wadsworth(don't think it will happen), Mayfield can beat Nordonia, as for Mck getting beat by Boardman...not sure...what scares me is if we lose this Fri and beat Mck and garfield wins out...they go in front of us......wow, a team that we beat 34-0 would get in ahead of us......oh well, losing to Utah team hurts us now more than we knew it at the time.
Speaking of scary, I'm surprised no one has said anything in another thread.........did anyone see what Iggy did to Cinn. Lasalle the other night.....50-0 Iggy. This same LaSalle beat an injured riddled St. X team last week, but St. X beat Lakewood St. Eds Saturday night......so in conclusion.....damn Iggy is playing some good ball. Iggy and X play this week.......

If we win either of the next two games and the opponents whom we have beaten do what they typically do then we should finish with around 24 and a half (ish) points. The median point total needed to garner an 8th round slot in region 2 over the past 5 years is 21.1. The highest during that time has been 21.9.

We should be ok, but this IS high school football, ANYTHING can happen.

Recall that in 2002 the night before we lost up in Warren, we all thought that game would be an ‘in-or-done’ game for us but as scores started coming in, 6 or 7 regional teams grouped directly in front of or behind us ALL lost. I think God must have wanted to see a Tiger/ Raider rematch in the semi-finals.

Hang on folks it’s going to be a fun two weeks!

GO TIGERS! MASH MENTOR!

Steele should be in good shape.
Actually only 4 of their opponents have losing seasons so far.

Steele beat Berea (4-4) W 37-14

Berea beat Brecksville-Broadview Heights (5-3) W 19-0

Brecksville Broadview is Steeles opponent this week.

Freemont Ross is also about even with us and they have Napoleon 5-3 and Sandusky who is 3-5 and if they win both their games and finish 8-2 they would probably finish ahead of us because both those teams victories already add up to 8 wins and they have more opponents working for them. We must pass at leased one team in front of us and not let Garfield or Freemont to pass us and that is why I said it will be almost impossible for us to get in with one victory. It could happen but the chances are very slim. GO TIGERS

I don`t know either! At least at away games we seem to make more noise.I thought the crowd was pretty loud at Warren.Older fans don`t make much noise but that is to be expected. It is the younger fans who don`t cheer that I can`t understand.Keep cheering because it will become contagious if we don`t let up.We really NEED the crowd noise in Mentor!!!!!

Its more fun if you cheer and become involved,in the game!
Don`t forget to bring some kind of TIGER TOWEL and wave it proudly and often at the game!

I'm having trouble trying to understand the way the points are calculated. On the OHSAA website they explain it, what I'm having trouble with is understanding the level 2 point calculation. I don't know if I'm making it too hard or what but I just don't get it. Can someone try to explain it to me? The address is http://www.ohsaa.org/sports/ft/boys/rankcalc.htm Thanks

They put together a pretty good example. What specific question do you have? What part of the Second Level points example is getting you?

I don't understand where they are getting the 10 points for the first two D3 opponents and only the 5 for the third opponent

That game had no effect on our ranking. However Buchtel beating Firestone yesterday afternoon did. You are correct we currently sit at 8.

Of the teams in spots 6-10 only one (Garfield) plays a team with a winning record. Obvioulsy we need Buchtel to beat Garfield, that will knock them back AND give us points. And really all we should be thinking is BEAT MCK!
