Great return by Grunder. Thought he was Gene Zorger back in the mid 40's against the Lincoln Lions. Nice defense also, the blitz was on.

Tigers starting to creep into the region 2 playoff picture....

Hey Chronic Tiger, what game are you referring to in your post? Was that Massillon vs.Lincoln or another team? That return deserves to be on SportsCenter Top Plays doesn`t it?

Same type of play back in the mid 40's a family member of mine use to talk about. Massillon vs Canton Lincoln I think.......

I checked the team records on Massillon.com and according to that site no Tiger has ever ran back more than 1 punt, for a T.D. during a season.Bo has 3 so far this year and his average per return is double, the current record holder, who is Billy Relford.
Many Happy Returns Bo................................

Not to rain on Bo's parade, but many of those records at that site appear to be only covering the past 10 (or fewer) years. In the long, storied history of Tiger football, I would find it hard to believe that no one returned more than one punt for a TD over an entire season. Names like Larry Harper, Tink Ulrich, Wes Siegenthaler, Dave Sheegog, Tom Hannon, Eric Lightfoot, and John Francisco come to mind as potential record holders. Chris Spielman may also be in there, as well (remember when he impaled a Perry player into the turf while returning a punt?!).

Still, Bo certainly is electrifying and I'm sure has gained the respect of our past and future competition!

Yes some of the records on there go way back but some of them do seem to be limited in how far they go back.Wouldn`t you think that all those records still exist from way back or did they not keep certain statistics before a particular year?

I know when they printed the media guides, many of the records currently listed on the site did go "way back". I think the website is a work in progress and will someday include the records as best as we can know them. For now, perhaps we can dig out the most recent media guides to see the records up to then (1998? I have the '96 guide, but none after that) and combine that somewhat with the website's records, which seem to only go back about 10 years or less.

Another thing is that certain categories of records were not measured until a certain year. Punt returns for TDs might fall into this realm, although it would seem reasonable to assume that it was measured well before the 2000's!.

I think whoever is running that site has done a fantastic job so far- especially presenting the Independent's game stories of virtually all Tiger games since the Tigers started in 1894. I am hopeful that the excellence will continue.

Of course we do! But we can care about the legacy at the same time! There is nothing wrong with giving props to the Booster Club site and hopes that the records section will be someday updated to completion (and perhaps include the name Bo Grunder!!).

Well its Monday.....it is time to come off it. The weekend never happened. Big game Friday. Monday is no time to talk about individual records...save it for after the season.

Go Tigers!

Yes....Tiger Nation needs to come out in FULL FORCE. These Mentor folks seem to think we are going to be a push over. They can keep thinking that for all I care.
