Just read on JJ Huddle that Lexington and North Canton Hoover have signed a 2 year, home & home, contract to play each other in football. 2009 will be played at Lexington and 2010 will be played in North Canton. It will be the third week of the season.

Hoover looking for a "Harbin cow". I think they found one. Possibly Coach Payne scheduling a Stark County D-1 to test the waters before doing the same with the Tigers.

Or possibly because Hoover agreed to a home-and-home and we would've insisted on two games here.
I'd rather play Lex than a number of other teams on next year's schedule.

Hardly a "Harbin Cow". Lex is 7-0 and 2nd in their region in computer points and 4th (Div.II) in the latest state AP poll. Should go undefeated this year (regular season), and have most of their players coming back next year. Similar situation to Louisville last year and this year. By the way, Louisville beat Hoover 22-0 this year.
Coach Payne has been trying for 2 yrs. to upgrade the program at Lex, by playing better, quality competition. It isn't all about winning or losing (but it is a consideration) as much as making the football program at Lex better all around. Playing better competition helps. Lex has gone 2-8, 8-3, 7-0 since Coach Payne arrived. He has a great group of young men that work hard and stay focused and a great group of young coaches that also work very hard.
I doubt you will see Massillon playing Lex though. It would be a no win situation for the Tigers.
If you want to see a sample of what I am saying...Lexington plays at home this Friday night at 7:00 PM, against Mansfield Madison. Lex is running a spread offense this yr. and averaging just over 42 points a game (starters haven't played all 4 qtrs. of a game this season), while allowing a little under 13 points per game on defense (most of these points scored on the 2nd & 3rd teams.

Potentially the very definition of a Harbin cow. Lex hasn't played anyone (3 1-6 teams, 4 smaller schools, finish the year playing only 3 teams with winning records, etc.). There's a very real possibility that their lofty record is little more than a decent team playing a weak schedule.
Of course, maybe they are that good -- but you'll have to wait until the postseason for the evidence.

What's "no win" about playing a team that will give you 40+ L2's? That's very much a winning situation for Massillon.
