Let's talk football. This years WGH squad is a unknown to me. Maybe one of our friends from the steel valley can help out and give some strengths and weaknesses from the team? I did hear from some that they have some real talent at the skill position. The Tigers will have to do some work on the tackling drill's this week and break down and make text book tackles. Whenever playing speed teams, take the proper angles and get to the ball. On offence, hopefully the coaching staff can find the weaknesses and exploit them. WGH defense usually fly's to the ball so work on the misdirection and use it to our advantage. What are your thoughts??

Raiders are athletically gifted (as most years), but it comes down to discipline and coaching. Like any team, if your defense is on the field for too long (because your offense can't sustain drives), your defense tires out and you lose-period!!!! This is what we are experiencing now. This is our second year head coach, we expect more; and like Massillon fans have some serious heavy hitting questions!! The talent has been there, and still more talent comes in, but football is a team effort not one individual or a couple of kids running the show.
I am sure Massillon coaches have scouted the Raiders, especially this past weekend. We have lost the last two in a row: 33-7 to Ursuline, and 49-7 to St. Ignatius. We have been on the road the last two weeks, so this home game will be a toss up. If Massillon gets out ahead early and scores often, it will be tough for the Raiders to keep up. If Massillon squanders opportunities, and with Hardings Jekyl and Hyde offense, it will be a close one, that can go either way.
I see Massillon taking this one, I just don't know by how much! If the game were in Massillon this year, Massillon by 14+. Since it is at Harding: Massillon by ??????..........

Sorry Mike Da Man, that is not my game, even though I would like to see a good game Saturday night. I understand your position, but I call it like I see it. The game is going to come down to this:
Knowing Massillons fast attack offense, if Massillon scores early and often, and if the scoring continues, it is going to be impossible for Harding to keep pace, especially if you keep our defense on the field for most of the night, and especially if you have good field position.
Harding's offense is going to have to play besides themselves to "shock" Massillon this year. The same old plays or predictable plays won't fool anyone after the first couple of series. I admit Harding gets up for this game, and I would feel better about my Raiders if we would have beat Mooney, or Ursuline and beat Iggy, but we did not, and we lost miserably in my opinion.
I hope to be at the game Saturday night, but I will not be surprised to see Massillon go to the air and deep and strike in the endzone often. Question is: Which Raider offense is going to show up that night? We are Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde. I don't think it is going to be a repeat of last year's 56 - 0 rout. But, the pressure is on the Raiders and the coaching staff against your new Coach Hall, and staff. Raider Nation will not be so kind to our staff if we are whacked badly Saturday night. That will be two years in a row under our current coaching staff!!!! Expect a fight, but if you pull away, and we do not respond, the scoring will get ugly for us.
No Sand Bagging, just ticked off that we are not nowhere better than we should be. Under McDaniels, we were consistent and better, again, my humble opinion. Good Luck Raiders!!!

The game will come down to consistency for our offense, particularly quarterback play. Our QB does not have to go out and win the game for us but he needs to be consistent and MUST avoid the big mistake.
I think out defense will show up. I’m not too worried about that overall.
‘Home cookin’ at the Molle’ is always a concern and is worth at least 1 TD in Harding’s favor.
How is the Presiden….err, Panth….whoops, Raiders kicking game?
* * *
When you condense it, it seems to me that most Warren/ Massillon match-ups (when played at Mollenkopf) come down to play in the last 6 minutes of the ball game. If we can win the last 6 minutes we should have good shot at winning the game

Kicking game, Its okay, just mainly concerned at this point about my offense. It is no secret, offense will either show up, or cause our defense to be on the field too much. As for the joke above with mutiple names: Well good one, can't do nothing with that one!!

Yes, thanks Pyromaniac. Dota is in his second year, Hall in his first. As you know there are still die-hard Panther fans refusing the Raider logo etc. With the original school gone, except the center section, it will look totally different from 2 years ago, when you visited last. Enough about the scenery:
This game is going to come down to who fundamentally plays as a team, takes care of the ball, and can eat some clock down or have a good chunk of time of possession and score. This game is physical expect nothing less, I am sure the 56 - 0 rout from last year is on the lockers of each player, but it comes down to coaching, and execution for the Raiders. Look for me to post after the game. I expect a high-octane Massillon offense, it seems to be a part of your philosophy. Some surprises or trick plays on your part are also expected. Special teams will definitely play a huge role in this contest!
I hope to hear our announcer (you hate so much/ besides the fireworks!) say: "TOUCHDOWN RAIDERS!!!!!! a whole lot.
I hope OBIE is coming love to see him/ or her.
I like the Massillon Swing Band, "Hold that Tiger", it plays in my head along with the Raider/F.S.U. fight song. AHHHHHH Ohio High School Football on a nice Fall, chilly night----takes your mind off the economy and being ticked off at Wall Street/ Oil Companies, War in Iraq, and just generally being lied to all the time!!! The sickening feeling that there is nothing you can do about this crap!!! :wall: At least for a little while anyway!!!!

I agree on taking care of the ball!! The Tigers have turned it over way too many times this year. I think 3 or 4 INT's have went to the house against us this year. I look forward to going to Warren. Always a jacked up atmosphere when these two teams play.

Gassed the car up this morning, ran into another Raider fan, talked about the game this Saturday night......Our offense may be a problem. Massillon will figure it out after the first couple of series.
If Massillon beats us so bad like last year, I am folding up my TEE-PEE, taking my Peace Pipe Back!, and going out WEST!!! Just Kiddin'. Anyway, I was going to have an honorary Head Coach fill in this week, Bobby Bowden take over for this weeks game. I just wanted to see Massillon's jaw drop and binoculars fog up with steam while you roam our sidelines:laughing:
Seeing as Bobby costs too much for my budget, that plan is out. Where is Shepas these days? Just kidding!!!! What's that crack about the Raider cheerleaders? Underneath that toughness, is a heart of gold---they are softies!!! Don't forget you have OBIE!!!

Without going into a lot of details there were some problems on this site with a few individual WGH cheerleaders at the time the rivalry was continued. There was also one particularly ugly incident after the semi-final game at the rubber bowl in 2002 which I believed involved a WHG cheerleader.
At any rate it’s water under the bridge now.

Hi Tiger 1 !!,
Well, where shall I start: The same plays are run over and over to certain kids, and hope to see some passing to other kids,to ease up the pain of running the ball so predictably. There is serious talent standing on the sidelines not utilized in favor of others. It's not like I am giving you our playbook, but just plain common sense. Your Coach Hall understands not to underestimate Warren, even when we are down, and we are! Our Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde offense isn't consistent week in or week out. Key matchups:
Our defense is our strength right now. If Massillon's Offense takes it to us early and often to set the tone of the game, and win the battle of field position, plus eat up some clock and score often, it will leave my defense on the field way too far longer than what I'd like. Massillon's offense has always been quick driving down the field, trick plays sometimes and equally fast players that can get down field in a hurry. You say Harding is fast, yes there is speed, but I caution: Massillon has that same speed-somehow that gets overlooked from time to time. You have after burners I am aware off, and in the right setups or isolate one on one, any break, and you are downfield rather quickly.
My other concern is my offensive line. If Massillon's defense is playing tough and not giving up the run and stopping any big pass plays, then it will be tough to march the ball and score. I think, Harding is going to have to play better than the current coaching, meaning talent will have to take over for the plays called sometimes I'm afraid. :wall:

I did not know this!!! I wonder if that has something to do now with the new Cheerleader Coach from last year. The fans complained about the cheerleaders dress etc, made them go back to traditional cheers, got rid of girls who did not want discipline etc. The girls are more college cheerleader types with the stunting, instead of the bumping and grinding we complained against!!!! I am embarrassed to find this out!
Last time I checked,he is our 1ST year head coach.

That is probably true considering that these teams have played 72 times.
I am refering to more recent history. Your are correct in that officiating seems straight up at the Molly, until, the later half of the 4th quarter. Maybe our team just suddenly lost it's composure after playing 42 minutes of ball. But I'm sure you right Warren1st, that won't happen Saturday. :smartass:

I think Massillon has the edge over Warren this year. However I don't think we have the edge over the mobs refs we will being going up against. I look for them to make at least 3 or 4 calls to help Warren win in the 2nd half.

We will probably get some bad calls that we won't deserve, but to be honest, we need to watch out for those darn penalities that we did deserve. We are having to many of them all season. If we focus, don't mess up, get a few touchdowns quick in the ball game, we will be coming back to Massillon honking our horns!!!!!! :gotigers:

Refs are refs anywhere, were not going to get cheated this weekend, if we get a penalty this week, we probably deserved it. Lets just play football to our caliber and we will win....period!

This game means a lot to both teams. Playoffs lives are in the line, and both sides will throw their hardest punches. WGH needs to establish consistancy on both sides of the ball. Massillon won't make that easy, so it will be a battle.
