I don't want to hear a quiet Paul Brown Tiger Stadium tonight. You fans have proved at the ESPN Titletown Rally that you guys can wave some signs and in fact make some serious noise. So tonight I challenge you all to stand up and make some serious ESPN Titletown Rally outdoing NOISE. I know from that Rally you can do it. Lets do it for Four Quarters.
Bring some signs, Flags, Orange Terrible Towels and LETS HEAR IT. Not just this week but, EVERY WEEK. Walt and the players shouldn't have to ASK the fans to make some noise. Iggy can't call in plays if they cant HEAR.
Go Tigers

well this was a tough loss for the players tonight. i can only hope that they keep their heads up high. and for all you so called massillon fans out there, where was the spirit, that stadium was waaaayyyy to quite tonight from the very beginning. i am very disapointed in the fans. i was cheering from the very beginning of the game til the end. in fact at one point when i was cheering, i had some elderly lady actually give me a dirty look for cheering. come on fans, you were at a football game tonight, if you don't like people cheering around you, then stay home and listen to it on the radio. these are our boys, our sons, grandsons, nephews......lets cheer them on win or loose. GO JV'S BEAT IGGY MONDAY EVENING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TIG ERS!!!!! BEAT IGGY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's the whole problem with all of our fans. I would rather have the 6,000 real fans that showed up to the ESPN rally than 13,000 so called bs fans who sit on their hands except for the halftime show. Not knocking the band, they're great. But if all your going to do is watch the halftime show, go down below during the game. Let the "fans" watch the football game.
I always hear our elders talking about the rallies at the old high school. When you left the gym with your head ringing. Games of 20,000+ back in the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's. Well, since I've been going to the games since the late 80's. I've heard our 10,000+ fans get out cheered by student sections of a few hundred, that's pitiful. Speaking of student sections, what's with ours? I was behind them at the ESPN rally and another game last year. There were fights and the cops had to come. I've never seen another group of kids all from the same school who fight so much.

Pshh our student section is terrible. Barely any students anymore. A few rows. The Idiots get a chant going and maybe 10 other students go along with it. Everyone is "too cool".

I can only say Section 13 so many times. There is no way you would get dirty looks for screaming over on that side.

When you're right, you're right. I made it a point to talk to quite a few kids this weekend about that, and they gave me two reasons why they do not sit in the student section. #1. They will not sit there because they are not allowed up at all until half time. #2. They are not allowed to sit in the student section per their parents.
I can see the reasoning for both. To be perfectly honest, if I were a student, I would not like the feeling of "confinement" at a highschool football game. And most of you probably wouldn't either, if you were to be perfectly honest. On the otherhand, I can see the one's who's parents are apprehensive about allowing them to sit in the sc as well. But, what is the answer?

I agree there are sections in that stadium that the people around you don't like when you cheer or stand up or jump up and down if they are making a spectacular play or run, pass, etc. I'm sorry, I AM one of those crazy fans who actually gets excited if our Tigers do something wonderful and if they need some motivation then I cheer for them as well; but this is total NONSENSE THAT WE CANNOT CHEER so as not to upset the person sitting next to us or the people around us. I agree that sometimes the fans do cheer louder for the band than the team and it used to be that everyone in the stadium clapped with the band and you don't even hear too much of that anymore. I'm sure I wont make any points by saying this but it seems like the games lack enthusiasm and spirit and are sometimes boring sitting in the stands when you can't cheer or stand up if the Tigers are moving down the field. I used to love going home from the games with no voice and actually being excited about going to the game, now it seems like alot of the enthusiam is missing and there are only a select few who actually go and support the team. I hope the fans that showed up for the "Titletown" showed up to show support for your Tigers instead of possibly having your 15 seconds of fame because you got in a camera shot because you were at the rally. I make no apologies to the people who do not like us excitable fans, I support my team and I will and do cheer for them and will continue to do so and if I can't do it in a certain section then I will move to a section that I can and I'm not ostracised (sp) for it!!!!! As far as the student section goes, back in the 80's when I sat there it was fun to be there, we cheered with the cheerleaders, we watched the game, we cared about our team and we showed our spirit!!! Now it seems like they go to the games to hang with their friends and could care less about the game or watching it. I'm not saying all of the students are like this, I'm sure there are some that go because they want to be there. It just seems like it's more of a social gathering to go to a game than what going to the game used to mean! If there is a section that allows crazy cheering excitable fans, let me know I would rather sit there!

I see more kids talking or talking or texting on thier cell phones other than watching the game. Like its social hour or something. I seen a disturbing thing also. A girl who had to be a freshman or sophmore showing off to her friends that she had a condom. That is a discussion for another time though. My point. If your not comming to cheer and root on the Tigers stay home. Someone made a comment to me at a game this year that the Village Idots arent giving what they usually do. I wouldn't comment to that as its unfair. They do however at least try. Give them credit.

Ok, I will admit I wanted to sit in the student section back in the 80's, (79-82) but it wasn't like it is now! We had fun, we cheered, we clapped, etc., but we did have rules we had to abide by as well. You didn't get anything past Mrs. Arrington!! We could go to the restroom, etc. if we had to but for the most part you knew in school even before you went to the game that if you sat in the student section you obeyed the rules or your season ticket was taken away and you sat somewhere else! We had a blast back then, not like it is now! I didn't want to sit by my mom at the games when I was in high school, I will admit that, and I thought I was old and mature enough to sit in a section by myself and I sat there all 3 years! We actually knew and sang our Alma Mater and it meant something to us!!!!!! I moved away 8 years ago but I still know and sing that song at every game I go to and it still means the same to me today! I'm not trying to be sappy or anything like that, it just seems like Massillon has lost the real tradition of why we put our bodies in those seats every week. It's to cheer our Tigers on to victory and to show the other team we are behind them no matter what!!! I'm not saying you can't socialize while you're there, I see lots of people I talk to every week! That's half the fun of going to the game! I sat by a classmate this past game I hadn't seen in 28 years and that added to the fun of going to the game. I understand about the parents not wanting their children sitting there by themselves, but I was 16, already had a job, so I thought I could sit at a football game by myself. Trust me, my mom still watched me like a hawk from where she was sitting and I knew that! That was 27 years ago tho and I will agree things have changed dramatically since then!!!!! Going to the game now is more like hanging with your friends on a Friday night for a couple more hours! Some students do care about the game, I did back then and I still do now.
