We had many chances to score but choked. First drive threw a pick around the 20. Next drive went down to the 8 and couldnt get it in. A QB and a WR and a big TE with some potential.

I'm not sure about our numbers, but when I picked up my daughter from band as I looked in the stadium, I'm pretty sure that the Iggy frosh had enough players to put two offensive units, two defensive units, a couple of special teams, twelve water boys, eight managers, and a few ball boys! A sort of mini X. I can see why come varsity time they end up with very good teams year after year. During the next few years the coaches get to say, I want you and you and you, not you (sorry), and you and....... Good luck with the rest of your season Tigers.

IT WAS ONLY 12-0 AT END OF 3RD QTR....THEY WORE US DOWN IN 4TH. We had scoring chances in first half--just couldn't get it in. Typical Iggy freshman squad......we counted 37 for us and 92 for Iggy-----92 freshman----it's amazing. I'll say it before someone else does-------I know you can only put 11 on field at once, but depth in football is very big. They were 2 platooning and if we had ball after couple of plays they would bring in 3 new defensive linemen...who were just as big and fast.....they had big o-line, average QB and RB, but like Iggy----2 big tight ends who burned us on TE in middle and drag couple of times.
I really like our freshman QB----Plants, I believe his is last name------good thrower, big and is aggresive-----he even played middle LB whole game for us---that's tells his toughness right there.
Also, really liked #73 on d-line---was in Iggy's backfield lots....has good size---he may get some looks as a soph next year???

Was at the game and you were right Number 2 really had a great game. However he's not going to be seen anymore because the number 1 guy will be back and gets his spot back. Which I think kinda stinks, cause number 2 has played his heart out. I definately think that Our Freshman coaches need some coaching. It's crazy that last year the middle school had 2 teams, and one went undefeated and now that they have both teams to pull from these coaches can not get the same quality going. They practice one way and then they use different people in games. Maybe they outta get some advice from Coach Bimbo last years coach who has worked with all of these boys for 5 years now and can tell them how to motivate these boys. He also can tell them to quit following politics and use the boys who put out. Sitting back and waiting for one or 2 boys who have speed to maybe get a chance to break out is costing them wins, because there are other boys who can push the ball. And there are other boys who they can put on the right side of the 0-line and will actually block rather than using ones that will stand and watch guys run around them.

#2 will give up the position no problem. He is a LB at heart. That's where he loves to play. He did a decent job filling in at QB. #9 will bring an added dimension to the position. He can use his legs to make plays. I coach #2 in other sports and he is a great young man. Next years freshman coaching staff will be different if Coach Hall starts getting some cooperation from the B.O.E.

I know number 2 also, and I know qb, isn't what he wants, but he really did a good job, and after some things were said at the practice yesterday I just think he needs reminded he did a good job in that spot as a fill in, not told that he "S...ks" which is what happened. So I'm completely agree with you, just don't want the kids with heart to be discouraged! And I am a fan of the 1st qb too, great talent.

Yep, wasn't impressed with that. Heard that from several people who overheard it said between 2 of the coaches to him. They played it off as a joke, but don't think it was real funny. I was glad #2 laughed it off!
I'm fine with coaches being tough on our sons and working them til they drop, knocking them around whatever but this kid kept this team going until #9 could come back. And shouldn't be made fun of like that because You just never know if you'll need him again. I hope not, but you always have to be prepared. Especially in Football.

There are some players, that you are able to say what you want to them, even negativity, because sometimes that makes the player work even harder to prove to himself and to the coach that he can do it. Than there are players that you cannot say certain things too, because they take it to heart. That is human nature. But it is sad that sometimes the head coach has to coach his coaches before he can coach the team and in reality that effects the whole team in general. I am hoping that #2 will take this negative remark and run with it and show everyone that he is tuff and will succeed on and off the field!!! Good Luck

I'm sure he will, seems like a really nice kid, was just really pointing out that some of these coaches really don't appreciate a hard worker. And I am hoping that it doesn't discourage the boys who are trying hard.
