Did the Genshaft family donate just money and the city used that money to buy the land and build the ball fields, or did they donate the actual land where the ball fields are at?

If they just donated money, and not that particular piece of property, then what’s the difference where the ball fields are located

They donated money. And, reletively speaking, it was not all that much.

If they didn't donate that particular piece of property, then why should they care where the fields are located.
