Lance Armstrong is ready to swear off the chips and salsa, climb back on the bike and win an eighth Tour de France. Three years after retiring, the 36-year-old says he'll return to competition and the Tour de France in 2009, giving up relaxed days of a few beers and Tex-Mex food for a self-described monk's life of disciplined training and punishing races.

Well, apparently he got chasing celebrity skanks around the country out of his system and is now ready to go back to his monk-like life and ride again. I have mixed emotions on this really.

Lance proably figures that when everybody was using drugs (including Lance) he beat them so he ought to be able to beat them when no one is using them. Scientific American had an artuicle that pretty much accused Lance of doping without naming him. When EPO came out the speeds went up dramatically, and after the big testing they have dropped. Most of the guys Lance beat have been caught doping, as have many of his former teamates, yet we are to believe he beat them all without drugs. His Doctor, Dr. Ferrarai is known as Dr Dope.
The say the cancer he developed is a marker for drug use, and Frankie Andreu and his wife signed a notarized statement that lance admitted to the cancer Drs. all the differant performance drugs he used.
I doubt he'll compete, much less win. But that's just my opinion.

I agree with every bit of this and I've been saying it for years.

Let me amend that a bit. If he says he'll race I believe he will, but this time he won't have a team on drugs to break the wind for him.
