Just out of curiosity...
Former Massillonians:
At what age did you move from Massillon and why?

when I bought my home at age 24.

Left Massillon when I was 18 for college in Atlanta and haven't lived there since. Bought my house in Wadsworth in 1990 because of job location.

Left Massillon at 18 after my mom passed away to spend some time with my real dad in California. After I figured out what a nutter he was (about 8 months), I came back for another 6 and then headed south with my boyfriend for work and eventually school. For me, it was better to get myself out of the rut I had created.
Looking at my 2 little girls sleeping tonight, I can see it was a good decision.

Why does you location say Palm Springs? Do you have a winter home there?
Born and raised here and will never leave.

Same story here, only I was 27. It's still only a 10 minute drive into work near downtown.

I'm 30 hoping to sell my home in Canton in a few years and move to Massillon.
Massillon is a great community and from the day I first step into Massillon I was always accepted as family. I think there are a lot of problems with Massillon that need to be fixed, but find a town that doesn't have problems. Although I'm involved and a few clubs in Massillon, I hope that I can do more to make it a better town not just for football, but for all the the citizens of Massillon

In 1979, I was minding my own business when I was taken by mercenary force to go to OSU. Brainwashed, I stayed on to go to gradual school at OSU. Continuing to hear and obey, I'm now working at OSU. I'm still trying to escape! Help! Rescue this hostage Tiger fan!

Moved to Massillon with my family in '87
Moved to Bolivar with my wife, where her mom lives, in about '94/'95
Back to Massillon in '96
bought a house in Canton in '97 cause it seemed too good to pass up
back to Massillon carried both rent and house payment Oct '07 - April '08
Back to Canton in April '08 cause my landlord SUCKED
Stuck in this hole until I sell this house and buy one in Massillon. My detailed, in motion, plan is for about 1 1/2 years. Until then it's crackheads, sirens, alley cats, and prostitutes. Oh, and boarded up houses, overgrown lawns, homeless beggars, and free floating garbage. Oh, and road construction, break-ins, robbings, and disturbance of the peace. And this is the good area. :tig:

Boston. One of the greatest first albums of all time. Unfortunately, it took them about ten years to come out with the second one. Remember that?

There is nothing like TigerTown! I'm resigned to survive from afar, though.

Got my last degree in 1999, so 20 years gradual (with a few real life jobs in between that delayed things somewhat!)!

Born and raised in Massillon, 3rd generation. Graduated in '82, season ticket holder for 24 years. Still keep 2 for emergencies.
Got tired of letting " the small town predict my fate", so moved to Vegas last summer.
Me & my wife both worked at fortune 500 company, WORLD HEADQUARTERS in Ohio, ( Rubbermaid & Hoover),and have chit to show for it. Let's hear it for the STRONG USA unions !:rolleyes:
Both of our fathers shafted by Republic Steel.
Couldn't decide what was worse, the economy or the weather, so we left.
I don't hear many good stories from 'back home' that filter out my way.
Keep the faith , and keep the friday night updates coming !!
