It was 14-14 at the half. I see Wadsworth go up by 7. I come back and it's all this.

It was 14-14 with 1:30 left in the half. Wadsworth drove 74 yards in 8 plays, then did an onside kick, recovered and scored in 2 more plays. 2 TD's within 23 seconds. They also scored a 2 point conversion on a bad snap for the x-tra point.
I hope Coach Hall watches this game. Greg Dennison, the Wadsworth coach, is known for these little surprises like the onside kick with less than a minute left in the half.

Wadstucky is loaded with Juniors this year and are still potentially a playoff team. Next year may be their best ever and believe me they have BigTime talent including top junior WR prospect Anthony Schrock and Big Ben Bezelli (6'5" 295 lb).
Those two sure would look good in orange and black!

I try to see them at least once per year on weekends where we play on Saturday. Their program has improved a lot over the years (mainly due to higher enrollment numbers). However, Dennison continues to be content being the big fish in the small pond of the Suburban league.
Hey H8ter, what is the quality of Nevada HD football. Your daughter's school Palo Verde, how are they? Who would you liken them to here?

Me & the Mrs. saw our first Nevada State Title game in 1996 at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. It was apparent VERY early , that this was 'prehistoric' football , at best.
Palo was opened in '96 , and won a State Title in football in 2004. They lost to the State Champions last year, ( 2007), in the State semi-final game , by giving up a TD in the last minute of play.
Can't really get a grip on what sport is most important, they really like LaCrosse. They are very well rounded in all sports, and list this C&P from the website. A very impressive school year they had in 2007 sports !!!

Sports results for 2007-08:
Congrats to the :
Back to Back State Champion Men's Tennis Team,
the Sunset Region Champion Men'sVolleyball Team
the Sunset Region Champion Men's/Women's Swimming Team
the State Champion Men's Golf Team
the State Champion Men's Swimming Team
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
They compete in the largest division in Nevada, and are quite competitive.
Their offense is a very 'compact' Wing T, with the fullback lined up directly behind the guard. Kinda reminds you of the stacked I that itch ran a couple of years ago.
They would be a VERY competitive FED team, but would pale in comparison to the ' Big Schools' in Ohio. They remind you of a good Lake or Perry team, I guess.
Don't know if it's the town, or what,....................but the crowd support isn't real good either. The kids have a lot of pride, but obviously with the school being only 12 years old, it hasn't grown any roots yet.
Maybe by the time they get some 2nd and 3rd generation Palo parents with kids in the program, the parents will show more enthusiasm.

better than the team that came back to beat NC at Tiger Stadium? How far did that team get in the playoffs? Does that represent the best playoff performance by a Wadsworth team?

1. Yes
2. Regional finals
3. Thus far? Yes

I still believe next year will be better overall. Clint Cockron QBed that '04 team was was a VERY good. Next year however, Wadsworth will have about half their team back including the two All Ohio potentials I referenced above. They will have three 4 years starters and several other 3 year starters.

I agree, these 2 juniors have a chance to do some good things. I compare Buzzelli to J.P. Simon, the big tackle we had a few years back that went to Cincinnatti. I'm pretty sure he has better grades though. Anthony Schrock is a very athletic, 6'3" 195 lb receiver with great hands. He will dominate the Suburban League this year, but that's no hard feat.
I'd say that this team next year will be a serious playoff team. They may make it this year, but I don't think the defense is strong enough to stop many people. They also have a junior QB, Caleb Busson, who is also a very good athlete. I'm telling you folks, 2009 is going to be a great year for the Grizzlies!
BigTime is right on with the coach. Greg Dennison is content (as is the AD) to be the champions of the Suburban League every year. I've had conversations with the Superintendent, Treasurer, the retired AD, etc about upgrading the schedule and there doesn't seem to be much interest. (Maybe they're afraid?) Right now, they play Wooster, Medina and Firestone as their non-conference games in addition to the 7 league games. Tallmadge and Green (once in a while) are the only consistent contenders. I am going to the Wadsworth vs Green game to harass Tom Stacy and congratulate him on his new job.

I remember the running back was very good that year also. I went to that playoff game with some of my neighbors (I live in Wadsworth). It was nice to see NC get rolled after having that lead. What happen to Cockron and that RB?

Clint Cochran is at Toledo. He was the starter last year before getting hurt and when he came back, they were splitting time. Not sure how he is this year. Not sure who the running back was, but I remember they had a good solid senior class with some all-around athletes.
Chronic, where do you live? I thought BigTime & I were the only Tigers in town.

LOL, maybe Wadsworth at Massillon. With their schedule, they would never get enough points to host a game. I live on the west side of town, near the soccer fields off Trease Road and Rt. 57.
