McKinley scored their two t.d. on a 75 yard pass out in the flats and he got outside our contain and the other was a 90 yard pass play as he broke the tackle at midfield and went the distance. Both teams were hitting hard and we had controlled the first quarter but they went ahead in the second quarter 13 -0 with the two long plays. We kept getting different players in the game and trying different formations and plays to keep them off balance and to find a weakness. We made a drive right before half time with coach Hall being very involved with teaching and clock management and the Tigers cut the lead to 13-7 at the half. We had some turnovers and pentalties that had hurt us and McKinley was playing error free ball. There is always a number of plays that we remember in a close game that can change a game but the play that I think was the big play happened early in the fourth quarter as we intercepted a pass at our 5 yard line and then we got a delay and were on our 2 and half yard line and we threw a half back pass by Jake Reiman that completely fooled McKinley and got the ball out to the 35 yard line and good field position. We scored latter in the fourth quarter with a bootleg with our QB and the score was tied at 13. The kick was good and we led 14-13. We got McKinley deep on the kickoff with around two minutes left in the game. We picked off a pass and retunrd it to the 5 yard line with a minute and 37 seconds left and a one point lead. They only had one timeout left and now it gets interesting as do you try to run the clock out or do you go for the TD and the give McKinley a chance to return and tie or win the game depending on if you made or missed the point after. The Tigers decied to run the clock down but one of our plakers jumped and put us back on the ten and then we knelt down and we forced McKinley to use their last timeout. We then run from a regular formation on second down and a bootleg on third down and we were back on the five. McKinley stopped us on fourth down with 12 seconds left . We called a timeout and made sure our players were back deep enough that they were not going to get behind us. They completed a short pass and went out of bounds with 3 seconds left. The next pass was knocked down and the Tigers had beaten the pups. GO TIGERS

I'm so bummed I could'nt go, :down: my son had fall baseball practice. Tyler is my nephew...my husband went and then told me all about it when he got home. Oh well, there are more exciting games to come. :sunny:

That is a bummer because it was against the puppies. But the main thing is that the Tigers won! I was happy for Tyler as it was a thing of beauty! LOL and one of the highlights of the game.

I also was at the game. I don't get to go to many varsity games because I work Friday nights. I will go to as many JV games as possible. This one was very good. Like typical Mck all their scores came on big plays. The Tiger offense had way too many turn overs but was able to scratch and claw back into it. There looks to be a lot of good talent coming up in the near future!

Yeah it's looking good. Feels good to have some positive vibes coming given all the negative feeling with the BOE, contract talks, and the DREAM. Funny how winning a few football games can make you forget the bad stuff for a while.
