I was at the Mckinley game and the scoreboard operator was terrible. He/She took a long time to put the down and yardage on the board. Most of the time he had it wrong. At the Massillon game it was the same way for our game. The Herbstreit Classic needs to make sure they have professional people to take care of this stuff. I also thought the sideline marker guys were very slow in moving the chains in both games.

One more rant, How can you bring people in and out and line up and then kick a field goal in 5 seconds.?

The title of your post presumes that the operator was from Mckinley. How do we know that? Could have been someone who was hired independently which is why they were not very good at it?

Also, your question about how Jordan could have gotten their people into the game quickly enough and lined up? Have you every watched "Big Time" wrestling? It is the oldest trick in the world. While the official is distracted, i.e., while we argue about the time on the clock, Jordan gets the correct personnel onto the field.

Our issue really is with the scoreboard operator as they are the one who made it so the officials had to stop play to have the clock re-set. When the Jordan ballcarrier was tackled, I was watching the clock and saw it was still running. If it had stopped like it should've, they would've never had time to get the FG team in the as the clock would've immediately started once the ball was spotted. Would we have won? Don't know. But, we would've at least had an opportunity to square off with them in OT rather than helplessly watch them take the game.

Just one quick question - who was in charge of the clock that let it run down to one second?

This game should have been decided in overtime and because of the failure of the clock operator not doing his job,the Tigers paid the price ! What part of this does anyone not understand ? Their coach even knew that this was wrong. I just saw the ending of the replay and I think it was around 45 seconds that it took for them to get the chance to make the kick. Why do any high school teams have to pay when something so simple as running the clock properly and doing the job right ? I don,t know if we would have won in overtime but I do know that there shoud have been overtime. GO TIGERs BEAT NORMANDY
