I noticed with 7:39 to go in the game, Jordan got an in-bounds first down. The clock did not start until they snapped the ball.

Obviously, things were also mishandled at the end- the clock was not started in a usual way, whether there was 5 or 1 second to go at the end of the play (If they're going to set the clock back, why not do that all the time this happens? Otherwise begin the qtr with 12:04 on the clock). Jordan was allowed to bring players in/out for a very long time (I believe they had 16 on the field at one point).

It wasn't good that we booed them at the end of a well-played, but poorly ended game. But it was just human reaction.

they were booed in response to being taunted by the players.

Some other observations:

I was reminded during the debacle at the end last night of the USSR-USA Olympic basketball finish in 1972. You must run the clock the same way you do during any other part of the game. And if he ran it to 11:01 instead of 11:05, would such a big deal had been made by the officials? They didn't seem to care at 7:39 when they didn't run the clock.

From now on, in the annals of Tiger football, this will be known as "The Clock Game".

I'd advise that, in protest, we never play this team again.

I was highly impressed with the leaps and strides the Tigers have taken since I saw them at Reynoldsburg. Alot still needs to be done, but we are certainly going in the right direction. And we have a coach who adjusted, at least offensively, in the second half.

On the other hand, I could not believe how poorly McKinley looked earlier in the day. They were playing a fine team, but not one in which you only get 1 first down before the scrubs come in. I hate to bring this up, but when you set your sights down to a Federal League championship, this is what happens to your program. As the monotone Scott Davis said during their game, "The Federal League battle starts next week vs. Lake"

The Tiger Swing Band put on a great performasnce at halftime!!!

Any word on JT Turner's condition?

GO TIGERS!!!!

..I think at first..the booing was geared more towards the referees than the kids... but then seeing the way some of the adults and kids handlded it on their team the booing was towards them..

..i mean what didnt they expect? people were going to like the way they were acting?

Vic, are you serious. Never play this team again. First of all we probably won't. Second of all what did they do. As far as I am concern they out coached us at the end of the game. We were complaining while they were taking advantage of a opportunity.

How great would it be to have a rematch next year?

In this day, what does one expect? The pros are all about taunting and intimidating and being disrespectful. The kids only emulate what they see every Sunday on TV. It had nothing to do with anything and I wish people would just get over this. I have seen some pretty disrespectful things from Massillon fans during the 30+ years I have been attending games. It is what it is. In the end, does it really matter? It affected nothing to do with the game and at this point, it sounds like we are just looking for something to complain about.

Actually, I was just being a smart aleck. Somehow, I think Jordan (like Cincinnati Princeton) is destined to hold a 1-0 series edge on us eternally. :smartass:
