Dont know if this is the right place to post this. But, today on the way to Wal-Mart I thought of two former Classmates and two former Tigers who are no longer with us so I stopped by to visit them at Oakwood Cemetery. What I found upset me. Overgrown weeds and dried grass clippings on thier markers and gifts from those who visited in the past scattered about. I took the liberty of edging around the markers by hand and sweeping off the grass clippings as well and fixing their flags and neatly placing the gifts left behind in neat order. Its the least I could do to give back to Courtney Herring and Leon Ashcraft and do something in thier memory. A way of saying thankyou for thier actions on the football field and serving this country in the military. What really got me was as I was leaving thier flags began to flutter in the slight breeze that suddenly came from nowhere. As if to say thankyou for my efforts. As long as weather permits I will continue to do this. I will post pictures next week as to I dont have money on my cell to send them as of now. I hope you guys don't mind, but I wanted to share my story with everyone.

Here are the promised pictures of what I had done to spruce things up a bit.
Pic number 1 was actually taken before pic number two. i noticed Leon's Flag had fallen down the dowel in #2 and #1 is the correction. Im going back up to check on them and do some more work. There are little toy soldiers that someone left that got scattered by the lawn equipment. Im going up to detail the markers better and put the toy soldiers in sandwich bags to keep control of them and place them on the markers. My love for these men for their service to our country and the Tigers propelled me to do this. Exspecially watching the 100th Game and bringing back those precious memories. I HAD to do something to give back.

I have never met you but you are a good person in my book. This is worse than any veteran deserves. Thank you from the Great State of Texas for being an honorable patriot.
Excellent Deed. Thank you!

Stopped yesterday 9-11-08 to touch things up, reflect on the day, and say thanks. I invite you to check it out in person. As long as weather permits I will continue to do this weekly.

First road to the left after you enter the cemtery. They will be straight ahead in the corner. Look for the 3 US Flags.
