Weinberg is quoted as saying that there is a "negotiation process" going on. Really Marshall? Um, you DO know that it takes two sides to negotiate, right? That a boy!! You're doing GREAT.

Weinberg also made a comment when it was over outside to someone about how all the teachers were dressed in black and he said:

"What is it Halloween or something?"

Nice guy, no wonder his clients are dropping him in his business.

Well, dress-up day was a goofy stunt.

Empty gestures aren't really going to solve anything. If they wanted to do something productive at the meeting, they could have presented any BOE members present with a formal, written request to renew negotiations. You know, put an end to McGrath's line about never getting one. That, at least, would remove any plausible deniability defense.

I'm sorry Wan but that's not their job, right? Isn't that what they are paying their union dues to people to do for them? Honestly, what am I missing here?

Funny that the 3 certified letters never made it into McGraths hands, those would be the ones requesting to return to the negiotating table.
Also, interesting is that McGrath met with MEA president two times in August and then he was quoted in the Inde as he does not know who to contact??
Also, the MEA president was not on the agenda to speak at convocation! Hmm, why would that be?

I don't live in Massillon. What is his business?

Nothing. Perhaps it was poor phrasing on my part -- all I meant was that some union rep should have walked up to McGrath and/or the BOE member(s) in front of God and the media and handed them a written request to resume negotiations.

Do we know that they were certified letters? Do we know the address to which they were sent?

That may be a function of the "designated rep" of the MEA -- and that may not be the MEA president. Witness the fiasco about who signed the tentative agreement. Apparently, there was even confusion within the MEA.

Having said all that, at some point, people should really move past these games. If the administration doesn't want to talk, just say so and give the reason. They needn't hide behind some ridiculous pretense of "I didn't know".

If they WERE certified letters, SOMEBODY signed for them. Find out who, and what happened to them afterwards. If somebody is blowing smoke up everyones' asses, "certified" will be found out very soon. Or not certified, which is more relevant.

Carl E he does investments for people. A few of his clients are teachers and now they are pulling their money out and going elsewhere. I can't blame them, why invest with a guy that is backstabbing you!!

The Board should allow the Massillon Teachers to speak whether it is verbally or in written form. What is going on?????????? I know a few substitute teachers who refuse to work in the Massillon Schools. The board doesn't realize how valuable the teachers are; they should negotiate in a peaceful way.
